14 Jan Christmas Time
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
It’s Christmas time again. That season when we are intentional about our giving to those we love and care about. We make our shopping lists, choosing special items those closest to us will enjoy. We anticipate the moment when they open our gifts, imagining the joy on their faces and appreciation in their hearts.
Your Father in Heaven is intentional in His giving toward you every day. You are always on His mind and He always has provision for your needs. Many Christians have a hard time receiving from God primarily because they don’t truly understand how to receive form him. Here are a few things you should understand about your relationship with your Father and how He likes for you to receive.
Being “saved” isn’t just eternal life in the after life. It is being made whole, nothing missing and nothing broken in your life today and forever!
All of your Father’s promises are gifts, which means you receive them like a present, you do not earn them like a paycheck.
You receive from the Father not based on how good you are, rather by simply trusting Him.
We can’t even connect with Him by being good enough and that’s exactly why He sent Jesus. Now we just extend trust that what Jesus did for us was enough to qualify us to receive the gifts the Father has planned for us!
Grace is the supply that delivers the gift, while trust receives and opens the gift. It’s that simple.
