Day 8 – Pray In Faith Not Fear

Pray In Faith, Not Fear

By Nina Bedell

Every day when I am driving my kids to school and when I am putting them to bed at night, we pray together. Every single time, I pray a hedge of protection over them, divine health, release angels about them and bind any attack against them! All the Word, all great things- right?

Until a few weeks ago, when during a prayer I just felt God ask me, “Are you praying from fear or faith?” As I took inventory in that moment, I realized 90% of my prayers had been to keep them from harm, to stay safe and alive. God began to show me that He has a unique purpose and plan for each of my children and that is what I need to be standing for and speaking into their future! Of course I will continue to pray for their health and safety, but now my prayers are coming from a place of faith and not worry or fear of what could happen! I speak in faith over their future and that God’s purpose for them will be fulfilled. Today as you go about your day, speak words of faith over your family, your future, your relationships and your job. Your faith-filled, effective prayers can accomplish much!

James 5:14-16 (NASB)

14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
