14 Jan The Family
11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren.
14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
There is nothing like family. Good, bad or indifferent your family is your family. Sometimes we are embarrassed by the behavior of other family members, or maybe you have done something to bring shame to your family name. Regardless, no family on earth is perfect and they all have stories that tell a tale of checkered pasts.
What is incredible about the family of God, is that He joins us, the imperfect, to Him who is perfect through the blood Jesus Christ. He joins those who are being sanctified to Him who is sanctification. Furthermore He is not ashamed to call you His brother! He knew all of your faults, imperfections and limitations before He redeemed you with His blood and adopted you into the family. He is not ashamed of you today, he is proud to have you in the family.
In fact He became like us, in the flesh, and then whipped Satan through death, destroying the power he had over us. Therefore we can be confident that even though we are still being sanctified (still being made perfect), the power of the enemy has been removed from our lives.
You are accepted by God and are in the family!
