Pastor’s Notes | The Path To Freedom

Psalms 88:8

You have put away my acquaintances far from me;

You have made me an abomination to them;

I am shut up, and I cannot get out;

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful (God will never let you down), who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it (God will help you through it).

  1.  You can get through it.
  • It’s not too late.

Luke 15:11-21

Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, “Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. Then he went and joined

himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.

17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”

“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

  • All God is, is compassionate toward you.

And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

2. Confront reality.

  • Admit it.

Psalms 51:6

Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,

And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

Psalms 32:5

I acknowledged my sin to You,

And my iniquity I have not hidden

I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

3.  Have a plan

4. Bring God into it, HUMBLY.

James 4:6-7

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“God resists the proud,

But gives grace (shows favor) to the humble.”

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

  • There’s tremendous favor on you life to be free.

Psalms 1:1-3

Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season,

Whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper.
