Hebrews 6:11-15 NKJV
“And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”
It’s Faith AND Patience!
Patience = long-suffering, not giving up over a long period of time, slow to lose heart
You can have the Promise, but still have to go through the Process
Psalms 27:13-14 (AMP)
“I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the
goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait for and
confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take
courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.”
Mark 4:26-28 NKJV
“And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
Waiting is faith-filled, active and expectant trust in God, not passive surrender to your situation.
Patient Faith Requires:
Stay faithful and consistent even when nothing appears to change.
Remember God’s Faithfulness - Thanksgiving builds faith.
Refuse to interpret delay as failure or unanswered prayer.
Develop endurance through prayer, meditation, and staying in the Word.
Sluggish:
Neutral
Loss of zeal
Lethargic
Passive
Indifferent
Revelation 3:15-16 AMP
“‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold (invigorating, refreshing) nor hot (healing, therapeutic); I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless), and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust].”
Lukewarm faith is not the absence of activity; it is activity without fire!
-busy but passionless
-active but ineffective
-religious but self-satisfied
Psalms 105:19 AMP
“Until the time that his word [of prophecy regarding his brothers] came true, The word of the Lord tested and refined him.”
