The Lens of Covenant | Pastor Bill Scheer

• What God produces through us here can become eternal fruit credited in Heaven.

Philippians 4:17
Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.

• Impact on Earth → Fruit in Heaven

  • faith

  • obedience

  • generosity

  • sacrifice

  • service

  • and souls behind that impact

Matthew 6:20

but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

• Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.

• God puts something in your hand on earth so you can lay something on your account in Heaven.

• Everything filters through the lens of covenant.

1 Thessalonians 2:19

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?

• We don’t measure our lives by what we accumulated on earth, but by what our lives produced for eternity.

• The ultimate win is standing before Jesus with something eternal to show for the life He entrusted to us.

• People reached.

• Lives changed.

• Disciples made.

• The Church strengthened.

• The Gospel advanced.

• Don’t spend your life accumulating what you’ll leave behind. Invest your life producing what you’ll meet in eternity.
